SSERC Leadership in Technical Support - New course

Hi,
I just wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of this being offered from SSERC.

It’s the first year its running so is fully funded, so no cost to your school and would be good to have in your back pocket for the future if coordinators positions become available.
My co-ordinator for the region has said that even tho I’m a lone tech to tell my SSM that it would be useful for liasing with the teachers within the department, managing my own workload, and good for future career progression for my CPD and its FREE.

Purpledice I’m interested to hear how this goes. I wonder how many people are interested and if those selected will last the 12 months as it sounds like a long time.

I am indeed, taking advantage of it being fully funded this year. I’m happy to feed back on it as we go if people are interested. To be honest I love training and learning new things I’m only 2 years into the job so I haven’t got too cynical and jaded yet. 😆

Similar situation to you, 2 years in the job so still very much in the “what can I get out of this” phase.

I don’t think my school would go for having to pay for a course like this, since I’m a solo tech, but if it’s free and if they only have to sacrifice 3 full days’ worth of my time to attend things in person… then maybe.

Purpledice Yeah I’d be interested in hearing what you get up to and how you get on. I’m over 5 years in the job now and I do feel a bit more cynical compared to when I started 😅
